Advance Search
The other primary choice for searching in the EBSCO system is the Advanced Search option. Advanced search allows for you to set parameters and conditions in your search that help maximize the return your search will turn up. The Advance Search option allows for setting custom conditions and operators, along with being able to better sort publications or articles you may need to reference.
Some of the features of the Advanced Search Options button:
Advanced Search allows for the same options listed under Search Options, but also expands the coverage and ability to limit and appeal your results to a specific phrase or keyword. One of the most important expanded options is the ability to search for PDF Full Text. Other important factors when considering the advanced options are being able to sort by language, cover story, and using the Operators discussed earlier to search for phrases in specific, optional, fields. This allows for the most inclusive and topic specific searching available on EBSCO, and will aide you greatly in continuing to research specific topics.
The next page will allow use to see some search results that come from using the basic, advanced, and search options functionality. There we will compare differences in results and we will see how our search is changed by what options, operators, and parameters we use to define a topic.
